At a young age he has attained much more than his contemporaries, and that’s quite a feat in the music space which is full of talented artists.
Very few music artists are able to embrace success during the initial phases of their careers, but Satwinder Pal Singh begged to differ as he emerged as one of the most talented sarangi players the country has ever seen at an early age, within a short time of his entering into the realm. This 29-year-old artist from Moga, Punjab started honing his skills at an early age under the mentorship of his father S.Shaminder Pal Singh ji who was an A-grade artist of All India Radio and disciple of Padam Bhushan Ustad Sabri Khan Sahib. The domestic atmosphere that he was brought up in exuded music which inspired him to follow the tradition of performing arts, and his artistic finesse was displayed at the age of 5 when he first performed at Shree Baba Harivalbh Sangeet Sammelan, Jalandhar. Since then, he has been diligently following his passion of sarangi playing and by the time he was 11, he had mastered the art and emerged as an incredible talent whose playing skills were widely acclaimed.
Satwinder has been steadily updating himself by being under the constant guidance of industry stalwarts like Padam Bhushan Ustad Sabri Khan Saheb, under whom he learnt a few techniques by sharing the same stage with him in 2012. A few years down the line in 2022, he got an opportunity to learn from Padam Vibhushan Pandit Ram Narayan Ji. He is also the youngest A grade awardee by Prasar Bharati. (Govt of India), and the first ever sarangi player from Punjab who accompanied Ustad Zakir Hussain. Apart from being a fantastic sarangi player, he is also a singer and has released two songs ”Ruh Lai Gya” and “Shaman Pai Gaiyan”.

Satwinder has also been awarded by the Govt. Of India With “Gold medal” (Presidential Award) in All India Radio Music Competition, has a gold medal in Gurmat Sangeet Partiyogita, a gold medal In Shree Baba Harivalbh music competition, and is also a five time Gold Medalist in National Youth Festival by AIU, apart from having received the ICMA Appreciation award by Indian Classical Music Association, San Francisco. Apart from such vast achievements, he has had the privilege to perform alongside many industry veterans like Ustad Zakir Hussain, Ustad Taufiq Qureshi, Ustad Fazal Qureshi, Sitar Maestro Pandit Ravi Chari and Pandit Yogesh Samsi which has put him in the top league of performers our country has ever had.
