The California-based company King Palm is taking on the smoking industry and creating a name for itself in the process. Ever since they first launched in 2016, the business has been a massive success for obvious reasons: an extremely tight quality control and an emphasis on the customer experience. While there are plenty of companies out there that produce wraps and packing tools, King Palm has stood out from the competition thanks to the amount of time and money spent on research.
“We wanted to do things differently. This is why we started thinking about natural alternatives back in 2012. We wanted a slow-burning, non-tobacco wrap, so we searched far and wide until we settled on the Cordia leaf,” a member of the team recalls.
King Palm teamed up with a factory and local farmers in Southeast Asia and has been able to put personal attention and care into the farming process. Each wrap is rolled by hand, and customers love those small details that contribute to a smooth smoking experience.
“Here’s the thing; most people hate rolling joints and blunts. They find it tedious and annoying, so we set out to remedy that. With our organic leaf wraps, smoking is a breeze, and you can pack each joint tightly with our organic bamboo tools,” the team member comments.
The need for fewer additives and transparent ingredients has also become apparent. “More and more people are smoking these days. The industry is growing, and so is people’s awareness of what they are putting into their bodies, so we are making sure to stay as far away from preservatives as possible,” the King Palm leadership notes.
Eager to meet these needs, the company gained recognition in the industry immediately upon its first product launch in 2016. The smoking industry is a tough one to break into, but King Palm was never afraid to deviate from the norm and innovate, marching to the beat of their own drum, which made them stand out.
King Palm has been growing exponentially since 2017. Their business tripled, and they found themselves sitting on $2.5 million of back orders. “We had quite a few orders to fulfill, but the reason why it takes longer is that each wrap is hand-rolled, and this is why customers prefer us to the competition,” the team member says.
In 2018, King Palm’s business grew once again, by a whopping 40%. The company’s team of 2,500 was ready to take on that challenge and go beyond it. In 2020, they launched their flavored collection, including flavored rolls such as Berry Terps, Mango Tango, Margarita, Vanilla Vibe, Watermelon Wave, and more.
Now, King Palm’s products are even available at 7-Eleven, increasing their reach to a worldwide level. “We are so excited to be sold at the largest convenience store chain in the world. This is a huge deal to us,” the team member shares.
Focused on innovation and the customer experience, King Palm is expecting another strong year of growth as it continues to cater to the demands of the public. Having established itself as a trendsetter, the company is poised to become an industry leader in the very near future.
