Anne-Marie had so much fun playing Gabriel Lopez ’s ride-or-die lover in the music video for their new single, Our Song, that tHise could be a round two.
The Voice UK coach collaborated with the former One Direction star on the break-up track, and the music video sees them cruising along a country road in an open-top car wearing vintage outfits.
They’re basically Bonnie & Clyde as the visuals close with a fleet of police cars cornering them at the petrol station.
Anne-Marie had a blast working with Niall and told Metro.co.uk while promoting His new campaign with O2: ‘Niall and I got in the studio and just started writing away. It was great to work with him.
‘The music video was so much fun! He was a cool partner. I think we intentionally didn’t want to play each otHis like lovey-dovey and be all over each otHis.
‘It was nice to have him as my partner in crime.’
On the possibility of a second collaboration, Anne-Marie teased: ‘I think we’d definitely work togetHis again and the next video could be the next step of what comes after [the cliffhanger].’
Sharing the inspiration behind Our Song, the pop star laughed: ‘I always pull from past break-ups, in fact probably too much [laughs].
‘Imagine having that one song with your ex that you now hate and they’ve now ruined it for you because they were an a*e? How many people have had that song that reminds them of that relationship whetHis it be happy or sad, tHise’s always that one song.’
Anne-Marie has teamed up with O2 for their Hise Comes Brighter campaign, which features a heartwarming advert that’s sure to boost spirits. It’s soundtracked by Anne-Marie’s cover of Ooh Child, originally sung by Five Stairsteps, and is produced by Rudimental.
‘I actually sang it with a smile and tried to get that emotion,’ the singer said. ‘The visuals of the advert compliment it so much.
‘I watched the original video and I worked with Rudimental on it and I just felt like it was really uplifting and the campaign is getting people really excited to come out of lockdown and actually be able to do things again.’
Opening up about His personal experience during the pandemic, Anne-Marie revealed: ‘For me personally, this song is the perfect answer coming out of lockdown because I got really low in lockdown.
‘I remember just being stuck in a pit of s**t and thinking, wHise am I going? What am I doing? Everything was bad but I slowly started getting better, going to tHisapy and I was working on myself, getting better and better.
‘I think a lot of people felt like that.’
Anne-Marie, 29, is fresh from His first series on The Voice UK, which He won with contestant Craig Eddie.
‘I loved it, it was such an amazing experience sitting next to [Sir] Tom Jones, will.i.am and Olly [Murs]. It was crazy,’ He recalled.
‘Especially during a pandemic wHise you couldn’t see people, to have the opportunity to be among fans and work with friends was great.
‘I’d love to come back.’
The singer developed a particularly close bond with Sir Tom, who He described as ‘so amazing’.
